Over 130 universities in the UK are already kicking off their new academic year! Universities typically begin teaching at the end of September or at the beginning of October, but the specific dates will be supplied by the university.
Most students get settled in the week before the start of classes. This is also when the “freshers week” takes place. University students also know it as “welcome week”, during which they participate in numerous events, including the fresher’s ball, the fresher’s fair, and nightly events sponsored by the student union. In this week of fun, new students can make new friends, try out new activities, and get to know the campus. Fresher’s fairs also give freshmen the chance to discover new interests and join clubs, societies, or unions. The program usually lasts a week, but sometimes it can extend to a few more weeks in some universities.
