Is it legal to get my essay, dissertation or thesis proofread and edited?

Yes. Read our article that shows that proofreading is allowed at the majority of UK universities. We are simply removing spelling, grammar and vocabulary issues and NOT substantively changing the essay or dissertation.

How can I trust your service?

We have been in business since 2013 and are a UK registered company. We have a small, tight-knit team of expert editors who love what they do. Our excellent independent reviews on Trustpilot, Google and Findaproofreader and on our reviews page are testament to the hundreds of people that have been satisfied with our service. We only use native UK English speakers and never outsource the work.

Does proofreading affect/change the authorship of the document?

No, you are still the author. We don’t make substantive changes to the flow, logic or argument of the document.

Why do documents under 1,000 words cost £13?

This is because we have a minimum charge for short documents under 1,000 words. Even short documents need to be assigned a proofreader, checked and returned.

Can I come in to your office to speak to you?

We are an online-only service and as such don’t meet clients face-to-face.

Do I have to be there with you when you proofread?

No, we are an online-only service.  You upload your document on the upload page and our proofreaders will start working on it.

Can I speak to the proofreaders directly before/after proofreading?

There is no need to speak to the proofreaders directly, we can liaise with them should you have any questions. We don’t put you in direct telephone or email contact with them to protect confidentiality.

Can I send my document in chapters?

We generally prefer to receive a whole document, but will take chapters of large documents like PhDs. You can upload chapter by chapter through our website on the order page.

Do you have a document formatting service?

Yes, we have a document layout formatting service – you can read more here: document formatting for PhD theses.

I have a thesis outline, will you write my thesis from this outline?

No, we are NOT an essay writing or model answer service. Nor do we offer paraphrasing or rewriting services.

How can I pay?

By debit or credit card using Paypal or Stripe. You don’t need to have an account for either.

Do you only proofread theses and dissertations in London or the UK?

No, we work with students from the UK and in over 45 countries overseas.

How do you make changes to my document?

We use the “track changes” feature in Word or use sticky comments and strikethroughs if you send a PDF.

If I add formatting to the PhD proofreading service does it take longer?

It will add an extra 1-2 days to the turn around time, depending on the extent of formatting required.

Do you help to reduce plagiarism if my percentage is high?

No we don’t reduce plagiarism. It is beyond the scope of our service. However, you can use a website called RewriteGuru to get rid of plagiarized content. This paraphrasing tool allows you to input the content you want to rewrite. It will rewrite the content and make your text unique.

Do you help to reduce or increase word count as required?

No, we cannot reduce or increase the word count. It is beyond the scope of our service.

Ordering process

How can I send my document?

You upload it to our system. Just go to the order page and you can automatically calculate a price and upload and pay.

Can I pay with a credit or debit card?

Yes you can, using Paypal or Stripe. You don’t need a Paypal or Stripe account to pay this way.

When will I receive my document back?

Between 5-7pm on the day it is due back.

Can I upload more than one document?

You can only upload one document with an order. We suggest combining multiple documents into one.

Can I upload PDF documents?

Unfortunately you can only upload .docx, .doc and Open Office documents.

Can I get a receipt to claim back the expense of proofreading?

Yes, we can issue you a receipt. Just add a note on the checkout page when you are ordering.
