Our story

When we founded London Proofreaders in 2013 our aim was simple – to supply the highest quality proofreading services in London. We felt that there was no affordable yet high-quality proofreading service available in the city. London has a large student population and we knew that we could help students improve the quality of their thesis and dissertation work. It is hard enough to write an academic text if you are a native English speaker, so imagine doing it if English is your second or even third language?We quickly grew beyond London, becoming a UK wide, then ultimately global proofreading company. Until today we have had clients in over 75 countries.We are now the fastest growing online proofreading and editing agency in the UK. We have helped many foreign students polish their work and get the mark they deserve, because as a university student, up to 10% of the marks for a thesis, essay or dissertation depend on the quality of the writing.

Our team

Michael Kay is our founder and general manager.Our friendly customer support manager is Kristine Sasa and her colleague is James Gallagher, they are on hand to assist you Monday-Friday, 9am to 6pm, by chat, email and phone.

Our proofreading team

We have an experienced team of native English proofreaders with extensive experience editing all types of documents.They have a minimum of a Master’s degree from UK/US universities (several have PhDs) and a minimum of three years’ experience in proofreading and editing. We only select proofreaders who have a flair for not just for grammar but also languages. Several of our proofreaders speak a second language, which we find helps make them more aware of the mistakes foreign students make. What makes us unique – Two proofreaders check your work

We assign a proofreader and a quality control expert to every document we work with, that means you have two pairs of eyes checking your work. Your document is sent to the first proofreader who proofreads and edits it, then it is sent on to a second proofreader who does a final check before it is sent back.
